Is the listing really free?
Yes. The free plan includes a published directory profile with all the basics — photo, bio, specialties, contact preference, location, telehealth states. The paid plan ($25 per therapist per month) unlocks the Outcomes-Driven badge, Verified Credentials, embeddable website badge, and in-app referrals.
Do I have to use Theracharts as my EHR?
No — we're not an EHR. Theracharts works alongside SimplePractice, TherapyNotes, Jane, and others. Your billing, scheduling, and insurance workflow stay where they are. The directory listing doesn't require you to use any of the clinical features. Many therapists list and lurk.
What does signing The Standard commit me to?
Three values-based commitments — Measure outcomes, Adapt treatment, Prioritize the client. A public statement of how you practice. Clinical judgment governs how you implement it day to day. The Outcomes-Driven badge is the only feature that uses your usage data, and it's auto-earned, not required.
How does the Outcomes-Driven badge work?
Auto-evaluated nightly. You earn it when you have 3+ active clients with at least 3 assessments each, with ~70% of those clients having 2+ data points. It can't be bought, gamed, or applied for. Disappears if usage drops below the threshold for a sustained period. Available on the paid plan.
Will my contact info be visible to clients?
You choose. Show your phone, email, website, or any combination. Or hide all of them and route clients through an in-app contact form (so your email never appears publicly). Each option is a checkbox in your profile editor.
How are search results ranked?
By relevance to the client's filters first (specialty, insurance, telehealth state, ages served), then by distance for in-person. Featured listings (a paid post-launch slot) get a small visibility boost within their category. Founding Member and Outcomes-Driven badges don't directly affect ranking — they're trust signals on the profile itself.
How does verifying credentials work?
Upload a document (board cert, training cert, license). AI does first-pass review against the credential's expected fields; high-confidence matches auto-approve, edge cases queue for manual review. Typical turnaround is 1–3 days. 16 credentials supported (ABPP, BCD, DBT-LBC, Beck CBT, Gottman, EFT, CEDS, CST, CSAT, CGP, CADC, and more). Available on the paid Theracharts plan.
