Theracharts + Alma

Outcome tracking alongside Alma.

Add validated assessments, trend charts, clinical alerts, and data-grounded clinical updates — without changing how you use Alma. Free plan available; no credit card.

What Alma does well.

Alma is a membership platform for therapists that handles insurance credentialing, billing, client matching through their directory, and back-office operations. It helps independent clinicians get on insurance panels, get paid by insurers, and find new clients through Alma's matching service.

What it doesn't cover.

Alma is a business-and-billing platform, not a clinical tool. It doesn't include outcome tracking, validated assessments, or a measurement-based care framework. Therapists on Alma still need somewhere to do the actual clinical-data work that differentiates evidence-based practice.

What Theracharts adds.

Six capabilities Theracharts brings that Alma doesn't ship in the box.

Outcome tracking insurers value

Measurement-based care is increasingly required by insurance panels — Theracharts gives you the data to show it.

Score deltas + trend context

Documentation that references actual measured change supports stronger session notes and audit defenses.

Clinical alerts on deterioration

Catch score worsening between sessions — preventing missed clinical signals that show up later as audit issues.

Clinical updates with measured data

Data-grounded narratives that make your Alma chart entries meaningfully evidence-based.

How they work together.

No API, no migration. The therapist is the integration point — by design.

In your charts

Paste clinical updates from Theracharts into the chart system you use (whether that's Alma's notes or a separate EHR you also run).

Frequently asked.

Is Theracharts a competitor to Alma?

No. Alma is a business platform — credentialing, matching, billing. Theracharts is a clinical tool — outcome tracking, assessments, alerts. Most Alma therapists run an EHR (often SimplePractice or TherapyNotes) for charting, plus Alma for the business side, plus Theracharts for outcomes. All three coexist.

Does Theracharts work with Alma's matching directory?

Theracharts has its own free directory at theracharts.com/directory. It doesn't integrate with Alma's. They're separate listings — and that's fine. More directory presence is generally better for client-finding.

Will tracking outcomes help me stay on insurance panels?

Increasingly, yes. Major insurers (especially commercial plans and Medicaid managed-care orgs) are moving toward measurement-based care requirements. Having a clean outcome-tracking system in place positions you ahead of those requirements.

Do I need the paid plan?

If you're seeing fewer than 10 active Alma clients, the free plan may be enough. If you have a fuller caseload, the $25/seat/mo paid plan unlocks unlimited clients and the clinical-update generator that makes the workflow much faster.

How does this affect my Alma billing?

It doesn't. Theracharts has zero billing or insurance functionality. Alma keeps doing its job. Theracharts just adds the clinical-data layer Alma doesn't cover.
